Galena, IL -- The NRA Foundation has awarded the Galena High School Trap Shooting Team a grant totaling over $3000 in shotgun shells for weekly competitions. "We are very excited about the trap shooting season," said team members, "and glad that the NRA foundation is making an investment in our team and community."
The Galena High School Clay Target League Trap shooting team started in the Fall of 2020 and continues to grow. Nine athletes competed in the most recent spring season with eight team members competing at the state shoot in Bunker Hill, IL, on June 4, 2022. The team has grown to ten members this fall season with anticipated continued growth.
This grant enabled Galena Trap shooting athletes to have reduced expenses for them and their families. All high school students no matter their grade or ability is welcome and encouraged to join the team.
