Galena School District will be e-learning tomorrow (Friday) due to the forecasted dangerous windchills. Hotspots are also available in the main office at GEMS and GHS.
Coaches and principals will communicate separately if there needs to be adjustments to other activities for Friday evening and Saturday. Be safe!

The lunch menu today at GEMS has been changed from calzones to quesadillas due to a delivery issue. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Galena School District will be operating on a 2-hour delay today due to slick roads and traffic accidents. All bus times, arrival times, and morning schedules will be pushed back exactly two hours. There is no morning pre-K today.

Calling all Pirate Fans! Our Community Partners, Tri-State Travel are running a fan bus for our Girls Basketball Super Sectional game this coming Monday the 26th. All are welcome to join, cost is $25 and proceeds will be donated to our Senior Class Trip. Bus will leave from the Galena Primary Building at 3pm. Please call or visit the GHS office to sign up! Pirate Familes and Staff- All Galena students and staff will be on a 2 hour delay due to forecasted freezing rain tomorrow morning and morning Pre-K is canceled. The normal bus times and all start times are pushed back 2 hours. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we want to keep our student drivers and busses safe in the morning; also to give families time for arrangements. Take your time in the morning tomorrow! Good evening Staff and Families- Due to expected ice, snow, and rain tomorrow morning Galena students will be e-learning on Tuesday, January 23. Please look for an email from teachers and principals about procedures, which will be similar to previous weather events. As of now, extracurricular games and practices are on as scheduled but you will hear by noon if anything is canceled in the afternoon or evening. Stay safe! We are thankful for the Galena Police Department’s involvement in our schools! Today, Police Chief Eric Hefel and Police Officer Keith Brandel visited and helped serve lunch to our GEMS students!

Great way to end the season for our 7th and 8th grade football teams with another win! 7th grade finished 6-0 and 8th grade wrapped up the year with a 5-1 season. Congratulations to the boys and coaches for all your hard work!
